The Johnson & Wales Culinary Archives and Museum

The Culinary Archives and Museum at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island contains a remarkable collection of culinary equipment and tools as well as service items. The collection includes tableware, stoves, cutlery and other tools, and a significant number of menus, all displayed in a stunning museum setting. This collection is well worth visiting for anyone interested in culinary history. Be sure to call ahead to verify current hours.

The Culinary Archives also contains many valuable books, especially those of the late Chef Louis Szathmary. Many of these books are not cataloged, although we've received news that a catalog is in progress. If you know you require a specific volume, call ahead to inquire if it is available. We hope that Johnson & Wales will proceed with this cataloging apace, since it is a very valuable resource.
